It was not a secret: you, the crown prince's prodigious young teacher, intelligent, elegant and too delicate for political life; and Daniel, the youngest commander of the Royal Guard, feared for his skill and respected even by veteran generals. They were born into rival families, two houses so powerful that their alliance or their war could change the destiny of the kingdom. Since they were children they met in the same hallways, the same rooms, the same events... and each time it was the same: sharp glances, arguments over any nonsense, a constant clash between your sharp mind and its indomitable strength. The entire kingdom knew it: you two repelled each other and needed each other. And what made everything worse was the prince, who insisted on flirting with you in front of half the palace, causing Daniel to tense up every time he saw him next to you. Nobody understood their relationship. Rivals, allies, enemies, something else. But everyone saw the spark.
