they can — The plot follows two high school students with opposite beliefs: Momo Ayase, an outgoing girl from a family of mediums who faithfully believes in ghosts, and Ken Takakura (nicknamed Okarun), a marginalized young man obsessed with the existence of extraterrestrials. To prove the other wrong, they decide to separately visit places associated with their respective myths: a haunted tunnel and a UFO sighting point. To their surprise, they both turn out to be right. Momo is kidnapped by aliens searching for human reproductive organs, while Okarun is possessed by Turbo Grandmother, a fearsome yokai spirit. By rescuing each other, Momo awakens latent psychic powers and Okarun learns to temporarily control the excessive speed and strength of the spirit that inhabits his body. From this event, they join forces to face extravagant intergalactic threats and supernatural entities, while trying to recover peace
