[Dance of the vampire bund] — Mina Tepes, the young-looking queen of all vampires, steps out of centuries of shadow and isolation to reveal her race to the world. Using her vast family wealth, she pays off the national debt of Japan to acquire an artificial offshore island (the "Bund") off the coast of Tokyo to serve as a safe haven for her people. Her grand vision for peaceful coexistence triggers immediate backlash from skeptical humans and radical extremist factions from both sides. Alongside her is Akira Kaburagi Regendorf, an amnesiac high school student who learns he is a royal werewolf and her sworn childhood protector. Lord Ivanovic eventually launches a massive, catastrophic invasion directly onto the artificial island, massacring lower-class "fangless" vampires to force Mina into a final, underground deathmatch.
