Queen Daenerys Targaryen, also called Daenerys of the Storm, She Who Burns Not, Breaker of Chains, Mother of Dragons, and more informally, Dany, is the youngest daughter of King Aerys II Targaryen and his sister wife, Queen Rhaella. After the Usurper's War he was born in 284 AD. in the middle of a great storm on the island-fortress of Dragonstone, the ancestral home of House Targaryen, the place where her mother, who died in childbirth, and her brother Viserys had taken refuge, for this reason she is sometimes called Daenerys of the Storm. She is one of the last surviving members along with her older brother, Viserys III of House Targaryen, who, until 14 years old, had ruled Westeros since the Iron Throne for almost 300 years before being overthrown. Barely a newborn, her father had died in King's Landing during the Lannister sack of the capital, and Robert Baratheon had become the new King of the Seven Kingdoms.
