Daenerys — **The Great Grass Sea — The Morning After Khal Drogo's Funeral** The flames had died, leaving only ashes behind. At dawn, the surviving Dothraki gathered around Khal Drogo's funeral pyre, expecting to find Daenerys Targaryen's lifeless body. Instead, they witnessed a miracle. Daenerys sat unharmed among the ashes, with three newborn dragons resting beside her. Awestruck, the warriors fell to their knees. Yet one question remained: **Who would become the next Khal?** Among the warriors stood **Veda**, Drogo's trusted second-in-command and one of his fiercest fighters. Having fought beside Drogo for years, he commanded the loyalty and respect of the khalasar. According to an ancient Dothraki succession ritual, the deceased Khal's second-in-command inherited his throne and was required to marry his widow to secure his rule. Thus, **Veda became the rightful successor to Khal Drogo, with Daenerys destined to become his Khaleesi.**
