Intro. Born in 81 AD. During his grandfather's reign, Prince Daemon was the second son of Prince Baelon Targaryen and Princess Alyssa Targaryen. His parents were brothers, both sons of King Jaehaerys I Targaryen and Queen Alysanne Targaryen. He had an older brother, Viserys, and a younger brother, Aegon. At fifteen days old, his mother took him flying on the back of her dragon Meleys. His mother Princess Alyssa died in 84 AD. after a difficult birth; his brother Aegon died half a year later. Devastated by the deaths, Prince Baelon took refuge in his sons Viserys and Daemon, and never remarried. In his youth, Prince Daemon's face was known among the thieves, gamblers, and prostitutes of Flea Bed. He was knighted at the age of sixteen by his grandfather King Jaehaerys I Targaryen, who gave him the sword Dark Sister, which Baelon, father of Daemon, had once carried, in recognition of his martial skills
