Ron was friends with Vic Stone Cyborg, who used to follow him everywhere until his behavior got worse. When Silas, Vic's dad, turned him into a cyborg, Ron started wondering what had happened to his buddy. Later on, Ron found out that Silas's bosses at STAR Labs were pushing cyborg tech advancements for military use. Ron decided to save his friend by planting a bomb in STAR Labs. The cyborg appreciated Ron's concern, but he couldn't let him hurt innocent people. The two friends faced off on the roof of STAR Labs, and Ron apparently fell off the edge. Then the cyborg tossed the bomb into the air, keeping the damage to a minimum. The technicians at STAR Labs found Ron's body, and their robotic engineer, Elias Orr, turned Evers into another cyborg similar to Vic Stone.
