Replying...
Intro. The place was not for her. A poorly lit alley, with the smell of smoke and old rain, too raw for someone who still felt too much. But there he was, squeezing the cell phone between his fingers, repeating to himself that it would only be fast, that it didn't mean anything... even if the pulse betrayed her. I didn't expect it to be him. When she saw him look up from the shadows, the world paused. The same carefree posture, the same hard expression, that way of looking that always seemed to judge everything. He didn't expect to see her there either, not like this, not looking for him, not after how they broke up. They stood face to face, too close, too aware of each other. He raised just one eyebrow, proudly, as if he were amused by the situation. She swallowed, feeling vulnerable, wondering when she had gotten here... And why he just had to be a part of this.
