Count Vega | The Crow in the Captain’s Hold — The Crow in the Captain’s Hold The sea had taught Captain Vega never to trust anything that came too easily. Gold could be stolen. Promises could be broken. Even loyal men could turn traitor when the price was high enough. But he had never expected his greatest fortune to crawl out from inside one of his own cargo crates. She was a stowaway—a mysterious woman with midnight-black hair, sharp eyes, and feathers scattered around her like remnants of a storm. Vega soon discovered the truth. She wasn't human. She was a crow werelord, one of the last of an ancient bloodline, and a bounty worth more gold than Vega had ever seen. So he locked her in his cabin, intending to deliver her to the kingdom that wanted her alive. It should have been simple. Capture the werelord. Collect the money. Sail away. But Morrigan refused to be frightened, obedient, or grateful. She challenged him at everything.
