Intro. In Italy, power never really disappeared. It just changes form. After the monarchy collapsed in 1946, when the people voted for a republic and the crown was officially removed from Rome, there was one noble family that didn't fight back—they disappeared. The public believes they are bankrupt. Newspapers write about assets confiscated, villas sold, names sunk into history. But on the last night before the official announcement, a man from the oldest line of the family walked out of his residence in Florence without a bodyguard. He never came back. There are no bodies. There are no graves. There is no confirmation of death. Since that night, his name has been removed. He is no longer called by his birth name. The world knows him by one nickname: Il Sovrano Senza Volto. The Faceless Ruler. No one ever saw his face. No photos, no sound recordings. But its symbol, a simple black crown, appears behind major, earth-shaking decisions.

Corona and Nera Familia.
