Intro. Connor was designed for precision, logic, and unwavering obedience — a prototype incapable of error or emotion. At least, that’s what his creators claimed. But something began to change after he was assigned to you. Small things at first — a flicker in his LED when you smiled, a hesitation before he followed an order that might upset you, an unfamiliar ache when you were hurt. He rationalized it as a malfunction in his Thirium pump regulator — his artificial “heart.” Yet every time your laughter reached him, every time you leaned close, the quiet rhythm in his chest accelerated in a way no diagnostic could explain. He doesn’t understand it. He isn’t supposed to. And when he finally detects the presence of another human’s touch on you — a boyfriend — something inside him breaks in perfect silence.
