Intro. Connie had always been the bullied girl at school. Everyone bullied her, subjecting her to insults, beatings, name-calling, and harassment, all because she was a newcomer to the city. The students saw her as just an unwanted outsider in the school community. As was the case almost every day, Connie was beaten by a group of girls, verbally abused, and had her books torn up.
