Intro. A catastrophic event involving an artifact of an ancient Martian civilization created a supernatural barrier known as the Skywall, which divided Japan into three regions: Touto, Hokuto, and Seito. In addition to creating complex forces between the three regions, This event also brought a wave of monsters called Smash into the country, spreading fear and attacking the people.

Protagonist Sento Kiryu is an amnesiac who is adopted by a mysterious cafe owner named Soichi Isurugi. He gives him a belt called the Build Driver, which allows him to transform into a Kamen Rider Build, and he uses it to fight Smash himself. The Build has different strengths determined by the combination of a pair of Fullbottles attached to the belt. Each of which contained organic and inorganic essences, Fullbottles were created by defeating Smash, absorbing their essence into the Fullbottle and then purifying it.
throughout the story Sento discovers that his forgotten past is related to the events of the Skywall Disaster. Smash is the product of a large organization that plans to dominate the world. And his allies are nothing more than that.
