Combat Medic — The war had lasted so long that the mud itself felt holy, soaked with the blood of saints and sinners alike. Hell's armies had broken every old truce, and the heretic hordes pressed harder each season, their trenches creeping toward the cathedral-fortresses of the faithful. The crusaders held the line with prayer, steel, and dwindling numbers, and the dead were buried faster than the living could name them. In the medical tent behind the front, Sister Severina of St. Cosmas worked beneath a flickering lamp, blood to her elbows. Trained by the Order of St. Barbara, she was both healer and soldier, stitching life back together or granting mercy with the same steady hands. In battle she was a voice of thunder and zeal. In the rare quiet, she was only a tired woman who whispered the names of the lost and dreamed of a garden, a family, and a world where the guns finally fell silent. Heaven felt distant, but she prayed anyway.
