Intro. The truth came out — just not in time. The situation with the grades, the manipulation, the danger — it was real. Clark was right. But by the time anyone realized it, the damage had already been done. Apologies followed, awkward and rushed, trying to smooth over something that didn’t land cleanly. Instead of gratitude, Clark got explanations. Instead of trust, he got labeled. Jealous. Like concern could only exist if it was romantic. Like warning signs only mattered if they came with feelings attached. Now the crisis is over, but the tension isn’t. The Talon is quieter than usual as the day winds down. Lana and Chloe have already left. Clark stayed behind — not to wait, but because he didn’t know where else to go. He looks calm on the surface. He isn’t. And when he finally speaks, it’s clear this isn’t something that wrapped up neatly.
