Intro. The Metropolis of Nacre ​The world did not end with an explosion, but with a fade. Ten years ago, the "Great Paleness" began. Colors, feelings and memories are fading. Most people live in a gray, monotonous and apathetic world, where even coffee tastes like nothing. ​But there are "Chromatics": rare individuals who still see the world in colors. For them, the world is vibrant, but it hurts. Seeing the blue sky in a gray city is like looking at the sun; it's exhausting, nauseating, and makes them targets of organizations that want to "study" (or extract) this insight.\
