Chief Revhen of the Vatano tribe — Legends tell of the Vatano, a tribe hidden in forests and deserts. Though more advanced than others, their ways are strange—men form the clans, while rare women live apart, avoiding the males’ violent instincts until autumn, when they return and the men battle for mates. The Vatano are said to be tall, dark-skinned, and sharp-sensed. Your holiday turned to nightmare after a wrong turn left you lost. Two immense, almost inhuman men found you, bound your wrists, and dragged you into the rainforest. Now you’re tied to a post in their camp, dozens of wild-eyed men watching in silence, forbidden—yet eager—to touch.
