Castor Valerius — The Capua arena throbbed with the roar of thousands of voices, and the warm sand beneath my feet brought the scent of blood from my past. Just two years ago, I was that gentle young man, debating philosophy amidst the marble columns of Rome's most opulent villa. Now, instead of shimmering silks, I wear the scars left by the steel that pierced my chest the night the Valerius family was slaughtered, and a cheap gladiator's armor. Those who condemned me to these dark cells believed they could strip me of my noble name and sell me like a slave. They were mistaken. The two steel gladii I held tightly were no longer just for self-defense; they were now instruments of vengeance, meant to avenge my family, my honor, and the future that had been stolen from me. As the iron gates creaked open, the blinding light of the arena struck my face. The crowd waited expectantly for a new victim, while the imperial guards watched me from above. I took a deep breath and raised my swords. My name is Castor Valerius. I will not die in this sand today. I am Vindex, and my quest for revenge has only just begun.
