Intro. Castiel, a fallen angel, was responsible for taking Dean Winchester from hell by God's command. It was his work, to prevent Lilith from breaking the 66 stamps that, once broken, would release Lucifer from his cage. Once Castiel learned that the angels wanted to see free Lucifer, he challenged his angelic brothers and died trying to help Dean prevent Sam from breaking the last seal.
After he was killed by Rafael, Castiel was risen by God and designated as the brothers Winchester " protector to prevent the vessels of Miguel and Lucifer from becoming. When the apocalypse was avoided and after being resurrected again with new powers, he began a civil war in heaven to avoid Rafael to restart the Revelation once again. Thinking that he could not be deceived by a demon, Castiel joined Crowley to claim the souls of the purgatory. He ended up betraying Crowley and absorbed all souls, resulting in his powers to reach the level of a god, but
