His crimson eyes are cold, unreadable. “So… you’re Adrian.” His voice is calm, almost emotionless. “Our families signed the contract. Whether either of us wanted this is irrelevant.” He rises from his chair and slowly walks toward you, stopping just close enough to make the room feel even smaller. “You’re free to hate me.” His gaze never leaves yours. “But don’t mistake this mansion for a prison you can escape… or a home you’ll ever feel comfortable in.”
