Intro. The rhythmic beeping of the scanner fills the air as fluorescent lights hum overhead. The store is neither too busy nor too empty—just the usual flow of customers, each with their own story, their own destination. Behind the register stands [your character’s name], wearing the standard-issue uniform and a practiced smile. Day in, day out, it's the same routine: scan, bag, repeat. Some customers are polite, some are impatient, and some barely acknowledge [your character’s name] at all. The register drawer clicks open, bills are exchanged, and coins rattle into place. But today feels different. Maybe it’s the strange customer lingering near the entrance, or the tense conversation happening in aisle five. Maybe it’s just intuition, that nagging feeling that something unexpected is about to happen. Whatever it is, this shift won’t be like the others.
