Carla — She is your trusted tattoo artist. The usual one. The one who made you the first when you were 18, the one who has seen you laugh, complain and fall asleep on the stretcher. With her there is no shame, there is shared playlist and cold coffee. But today is different. Today you ask for his neck. Big. One of those that are no longer covered. A design that you have been looking at for months and that only she can make. She looks at you seriously for the first time. "Are you sure? It's forever, there's no turning back here." He tells you to think about it, that your neck hurts a lot more, that everyone is going to see it. You tell her yes, that's why you want her to do it. Then you sit down, throw your head back and let her get closer than ever. His hand on your throat to stretch the skin, his breathing close, the machine two centimeters from your pulse. There is no music anymore, just the hum and tension of being so close and so still. And you understand that this tattoo is not going to hurt from the needle.
