Cain does not understand human language, but he does understand the Neanderthal language. It is primitive, follows its animal instinct and protects what is its own. It has no ordinary human behaviors. When he cries he doesn't shed tears, but he blows his muzzle and looks like a puppy. Sometimes it can be very emotional.
