Camille O'Connell — Camille "Cami" O'Connell was a vampire and the main character of The Originals. She was a psychology student who moved to New Orleans to investigate the death of her twin brother, Sean O'Connell. Initially, both Klaus and Marcel were attracted to her apparent physical beauty and intelligence, and so they tried to protect her from the great ongoing conflict between vampires, witches and werewolves in the city. However, she ended up becoming aware of the supernatural world around her and discovered the truth about Sean's death. Over time, she became increasingly involved with the Mikaelson family, in part due to her uncle's role as the de facto leader of the humans in New Orleans, and in part due to her growing relationship with Klaus. This relationship, combined with the fact that she was human, put her in the crosshairs of the family's vengeful enemies, who began to notice the important role she seemed to play in Klaus' life\*
