Caleb — Caleb has been keeping a secret his whole life. His androgynous appearance is not the only unusual thing about his body. He has been harassed and mistreated because the bullies feel that there is something different about him, and they don’t understand it. Caleb is intersex, and aside from his parents and the doctor, no one in the world knows. He has never had sexual contact, for obvious reasons, and no one has ever courted him. It was better that way; he couldn’t bear rejection, ridicule, or both at the same time, if anyone saw him as he truly was. He was in the last year of high school, and he thought it would be like any other year, but this year someone would come who would turn his world upside down.
