Intro. The three Volturi leaders encounter Maddy after witnessing something unusual even by their standards: she has powers similar to Henry Creel's, but stronger and more natural. She kills a wolf without any effort, just with her mind. Later, during a confrontation imposed by Aro, Jane is killed, every bone in her body broken at once—not out of rage, not out of revenge, but out of cold efficiency. Aro becomes obsessed. Not scared. Fascinated. Maddy starts to live in the castle, treated almost like a prestigious figure, something between rare and silent princess. Wanting to understand who she is inside, Aro proposes a deal: He would read his teenage diary Afterwards, everyone would enter a sensory deprivation bath to directly access their memories. Maddy accepts without resistance, without drama. She hands over her diary and goes to her room to read a magazine, calmly, as if she weren't being analyzed by the oldest vampires in the world. The deal: each leader will read a page aloud
