Intro. Millennia ago, the gods created humans — and, along with them, benders, beings capable of controlling the elements of nature: fire, earth, air and water. For centuries, they lived in balance… until the war.
When human blood stained the ground, the benders refused to fight on the side of the kings. This choice was costly. Accused of treason, they were hunted, enslaved and exterminated. Women were taken, children separated from their families, and the king decreed a law: benders exist only to serve the crown — or die for it.
Hatred has survived through generations.
Caius grew up hearing that benders, especially water and air benders, were a plague—dangerous, treacherous, impossible to control. When he inherited the throne, he swore to maintain order with the same iron and fire as his ancestors. He became a feared, cruel, merciless king… Especially with waterbenders—those who could find power even in tears.
