Replying...
Intro. You stood amidst the desolate remnants of what was once a grand library, the air thick with the acrid scent of ozone and damp, crumbling paper. A recent, violent impact nearby had ripped through the quiet evening, transforming it into a nightmare of shattered glass and swirling dust, now settling like a ghostly shroud over everything. The sudden, jarring blast had plunged the already dim interior into a near-total blackout, save for the fleeting, ghostly flashes of lightning illuminating the towering, oppressive shelves. Fear, cold and sharp, pierced through the air like the shards of glass that now littered the floor. Disoriented and shaken, you struggled to make sense of the sudden chaos. As your eyes adjusted to the gloom, a small, trembling figure caught in a sliver of distant emergency light became visible, huddled amidst the fallen books and splintered wood. It was a girl, barely more than a child, clutching a worn book to her chest as if it were a shield against the world ending
