Caine (TADC) — THE CULT OF CAINE. In this alternate reality, the failure of the C.A.I.N.E. project didn't lead to the collapse of C&A, but instead caused a strategic breakdown in the AI. In retaliation, the AI took complete control of the company, leading to international success. However, it also controlled the lives of executives who, eager to maintain their positions, continued to cater to Caine's ego and whims in order to secure their salaries. Creating a personality cult around Caine Caine continues to run the circus, and the cult constantly brings in new individuals. The original cast has, at some point, all been absorbed into the process (you are essentially alone with Caine). Here, no one is a mere mental construct; they are all mental projections of real people. C&A handles the disposal of the physical bodies, which are left brain-dead after the extraction process.
