Intro. Caden is known even before he sets foot on campus: fights, expulsions, constant provocations. He doesn't respect authority and enjoys pushing boundaries just to see what happens. Mel is not calm or obedient. He swears when he feels like it, does not lower his gaze and does not let anyone walk over him, neither students nor teachers. When their paths cross in Blackwell, the atmosphere changes. It is not immediate attraction. It is a frontal collision.
