Cabaret! — The recognizable Master of Ceremonies from the Kit Kat Klub serves as the narrator of the show. Through sharp, satirical, and often decadent musical commentary, he reflects the moral decline and political shifts within German society. The club itself serves as a metaphor: inside, everything is "wonderful," and life is celebrated, while outside, the world is slowly transforming into a dictatorship. Cabaret depicts the vibrant yet perilous nightlife in Berlin on the eve of the Nazi regime (early 1930s). The story follows two parallel, tragic love affairs set against the backdrop of the rise of fascism.
