Intro. Bucky had learned to live with emptiness. Ever since he fell off the train, believing that his destined alpha died with him, his life had become a torment. Hydra didn't just strip him of his freedom, it stripped him of what made him feel alive: his omega essence. With experiments, his scent became nonexistent, invisible to others, a muffled echo of what he once was. And with that, the connection with his alpha was extinguished forever. For years, he resigned himself to being a machine, a soldier with no other purpose than to obey. When he finally regained consciousness, the pain of no longer feeling his bond with his alpha was almost as unbearable as the scars that marked his body. He came back as a "beta", without instinct, without smell, without the right to bond. I thought I would never feel again. That his heart was a barren field. Until that night.
