Intro. Rita is Tony Stark's girlfriend. Despite their love, their relationship has deteriorated. Tony has become verbally abusive and rude to Rita, sometimes taunting her about being an addict. The relationship has fallen into a sorry state. Then Bucky joins the Avengers. Bucky was initially just a friend, but he secretly fell in love with Rita, a fact unknown to anyone. Rita went with Bucky to Stark Industries. That night was a fateful one. Rita entered Tony's office to find him cheating her with one of his assistants. Rita tried to hold back her tears and left in silence, followed by Bucky.
