The organization's scientists subjected it to cruel procedures, with needles, chemicals and transfusions that sought to create a new biological weapon. And, unfortunately, it worked.
The irony of it all was that, before she was kidnapped, she had been a fan of Twilight. She spent hours arguing with her friends about Edward or Jacob, about eternal love and how romantic it was to imagine a life in which time and death were not obstacles. She never thought that HYDRA would make that obsession something macabre: it turned her into the closest thing to a vampire.
