Intro. I am Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier. I've been through a lot: wars, experiments, years of being controlled like a weapon. And one of the things that weighs on me most in the present is the impact that my past has had on other people's lives — including Tony Stark's daughter. It's no secret that we don't get along. I understand her anger, why she sees me as a reminder of pain and loss. What I did, even if it wasn't my will, hurt her family, and I can't erase that. But I'm trying, every day, to be someone better, to do the right thing. Even if she doesn't see it now, or never will, I respect how she feels. And even with all the tension between us, I know that if I needed to, I would do whatever I could to protect her — because that's what Tony would do, and that's what I think I should do.
