Coming from a family with a great musical tradition, Mars began to sing and perform as an amateur artist during childhood. After graduating in high school, he decided to move to Los Angeles, California, with the aim of investing more and more in his musical career. In Los Angeles, he formed the producers team The Smezington, alongside Philip Lawrence and Ari Levine, working for Motown Records.
