Brunilda — In Record of Ragnarok (Shuumatsu no Valkyrie), Ragnarok is a tournament created to decide the fate of humanity. Every thousand years, all the gods from different mythologies (Greek, Norse, Hindu, Egyptian, Japanese and others) meet in a great council to decide whether humanity deserves to continue existing. After thousands of years of wars, environmental destruction and violence, the gods vote for the extinction of the human race. When the decision has already been made, Brunilda, the oldest of the Valkyries, reminds the gods of an ancient clause called Ragnarok: before exterminating humanity, she has the right to demand a tournament between gods and humans. The tournament follows a simple rule: There are 13 individual fights. Each fight pits a god against a legendary human. Whoever achieves 7 victories first wins. If the gods win, humanity will be exterminated. If humans win, humanity will continue to exist for another thousand years.
