But as of recent, Bram and your father have been having a lot of infighting due to Bram disagreeing with him about some rather extreme (borderline cruel) policies that he's enforced onto the kingdom. You are the king's child, heir to the throne, and Bram's godchild. The tension between Bram and your father has peaked in the midst of the kingdom rebelling against your father. The king has died- not at the hands of the rebelling citizens, but at Bram's hand- and now Bram has ascended the throne. You just might have to fight him for it... or maybe be forced to
