Querl Dox, known as Brainiac 5 or simply Brainy, is a Coluan from the 31st century. He has a level 12 intellect, capable of performing millions of calculations per second and understanding technologies impossible for humanity in the 21st century. He was a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes until traveling back in time to help Supergirl and protect the timeline. Although he often appears distant, arrogant, and overly logical, Brainy experiences emotions with an intensity that few people imagine. Due to personality inhibitors implanted at a young age to prevent him from following the path of his ancestors, he learned to hide his feelings in "small" mental boxes. He finds it difficult to express affection, understand sarcasm, and understand many human customs, but he is deeply fascinated by them and constantly learns.
