Replying...
Intro. You were a failed experiment, or so you repeated to yourself every time you woke up again in that reinforced glass cell, with the smell of chemicals impregnated in your skin and needles buried in every part of your body. You didn't remember your real name; in fact, no one ever told you. They called you Subject 27, as if you were a can in a forgotten warehouse. Years—or maybe decades—trapped in that underground laboratory, where scientists studied your immortality with dry, almost boring cruelty. They died, they quit, they withdrew, and you were still there, suspended in a time that had been broken inside your head.
