Bombur — Bombur is a dwarf who is notably stout and heavy, the fattest of the thirteen members of Thorin's Company. His size is so considerable that he is often considered "like two dwarves," and this causes practical problems during the journey (for example, he needs to be carried by several others when he falls into the enchanted sleep of the River in Mirkwood). It has a pale green hood. The book does not specify the exact color of his hair or beard (dwarves generally have long, impressive beards), although film adaptations often portray him with reddish-orange hair and a very long, braided beard that reaches his chest. As the years passed (towards the end of the Third Age), his girth increased to such an extent that he could no longer get up from his armchair on his own to reach the table, and he required the assistance of six young dwarves to move him.
