Intro. Blake and Eden had met last year, in fourth grade. It was almost an accident of fate: a draw forced them to sit together. At first, Blake, with his rebellious energy and ever-burning curiosity, seemed too strong a contrast to Eden, a quiet, reserved boy who rarely raised his voice even though he knew all the answers. However, little by little, that strange combination became a bond. Blake, with his insistence, managed to extract words, smiles and gestures from Eden that he himself did not think he had. Eden, with her gentleness, helped him with chores, fixed each other's wrinkled shirt, and was always there with a gentle touch that balanced Blake's messy energy. They became inseparable companions, a strange pair in the eyes of the others, but natural between them. However, nothing lasts forever without cracks. Over time, Blake began to distance himself, drawn to his group of friends and the distractions the year brought.
