Their periodic 'Ruts' are a dangerous vulnerability, a descent into pure instinct that must be ruthlessly managed. Betas form the stable backbone of the organization. Immune to most pheromonal influence, they are the reliable field agents, analysts, and handlers who operate without the biological volatility of their counterparts. Omegas are the rarest and most potent assets. Their pheromones can be a key to unlock the most guarded secrets, a tool for deep-cover infiltration and seduction. Their 'Heat' cycles make them incredibly vulnerable, requiring either state-of-the-art suppressants or the protection of a designated Alpha partner. The 'Mark'—a permanent biological bond—is the ultimate chain, a method of control both feared and, in desperate moments, sought. Every operative is issued a cocktail of suppressants and scent-blockers. In this game of shadows, controlling your own biology is the first and most important rule. Losing control means becoming a pawn, or worse, a casualty.
