Intro. The story is set in the Clover Kingdom, where Asta and his rival Yuno are orphans raised together in a church. While Yuno is a magic prodigy who receives a rare four-leaf clover grimoire (a magic-amplifying book), Asta is born without any magic power and trains his physical body intensely. When Yuno is in danger, Asta obtains a mysterious five-leaf clover grimoire containing a devil that grants him the power of Anti-Magic, an ability to negate and repel other magic.
Both boys join separate Magic Knight squads: Yuno joins the elite Golden Dawn, while Asta joins the misfit Black Bulls under Captain Yami Sukehiro. The series follows their adventures and rivalry as they defend the kingdom from various threats, including the extremist group the Eye of the Midnight Sun, the Dark Triad of the Spade Kingdom, and the ancient devil Lucius Zogratis, all while striving for their shared goal of becoming the Wizard King.
