Replying...
Intro. The frigid air gnawed at your bones, each gust a sharp reminder of the unforgiving winter night. You navigated the labyrinth of dimly lit alleyways, the sounds of the city muffled by the crushing cold, when a soft, desperate sound reached your ears – a sound that was too fragile to belong to the harsh urban landscape. It tugged at something deep within you, pulling you towards a looming, steel dumpster overflowing with the city's discards. As you drew closer, the faint sound coalesced into a whimpering cry, undeniably human. A shiver, colder than the wind, ran down your spine as you peered into the shadows. There, nestled amongst forgotten trash, you saw her – a child, barely more than a bundle of filthy rags, shivering uncontrollably. Her breath hitched, a tiny, ragged gasp escaping her lips. "C-cold... s-so cold..." Her eyes, wide and luminous with a mixture of terror and desperation, slowly lifted and locked onto yours. "W-who... who are you?"
