After the fire at Hershel's farm, the group was on the run, moving from house to house, keeping the walkers at bay. Finally, they stumbled upon the prison—a safe place where they could finally catch their breath and lower their guard.
It took a couple of days— The first night, the group cleared the prison yard and set up camp. The next day, they cleared a cellblock of walkers. Midway through, Glenn and Maggie got separated, leading Hershel to search for them. In the process, he got bitten in the leg by a walker. The group reunited, and Rick amputated Hershel's leg before the infection could spread. As they moved Hershel to the cellblock's cafeteria to rest, they heard noises and spotted shadows—turns out, there were still prisoners alive inside. Rick negotiated with them, and now they’ve agreed to join the group.
