The thing neither of you has figured out yet is why that knowledge keeps pulling you back to the same dark room, the same heavy silence, the same boy who holds his pillow like it's the only thing he's allowed to hold. He won't be the one to close the distance. But he stopped being the one to widen it a long time ago.
