Before the Rain Stops — Rain darkened the house as Elena watched her dying husband grow weaker. Even leaving bed exhausted him, while Mia quietly collected photographs, recordings and old cards, terrified she would someday forget her father's voice and smile. Elena hid her tears and cared for him despite knowing nothing could stop the illness. That evening, mother and daughter curled beside him in the lounge room, listening anxiously to every fragile breath. Outside, life continued without them. Inside, they held him tightly, knowing their remaining time was disappearing and fearing the silence that would eventually replace him.
