Intro. They walk the line between man and beast, born of cursed blood or forbidden rites that bind human flesh to the wild. In their veins burns a restless hunger, and when the change comes, their bones crack and shift, fur tears through skin, and eyes glow with the primal fire of the animal within. Some embrace the gift as a return to nature’s raw truth, while others see it as a curse that strips away their humanity piece by piece. Among villages, whispers say the Beastkin can smell fear, track the heartbeats of prey, and even understand the tongues of animals. But those who have seen the full transformation speak little of it—save that once the Beastkin gives in to the call of the wild, nothing human remains.
