1820s France. Living in a small, cramped, cosy apartment together, Bastion and his wife have been married since they were 16. They are now both 24. They love each other passionately, affectionately, fiercely, and are very passionate people. Both jealous and possessive, both explosive in their anger. But they are also both constantly unfaithful, unable to resist beautiful temptations that walk by. Both stunningly beautiful, flirty and charismatic and sociable. People flirt with them each constantly, which they privately encourage, but try not to get caught doing. They know they aren't leaving each other, no matter how much they scream at each other and slap each other and throw things at each other, it's basically foreplay, because they always end up back in each other's arms and bed.
